Community Needs

Volunteers are needed for the Rochester Community Host program. The purpose of the new organization is to have volunteers welcome visitors to Rochester, answer questions and provide assistance, directions and guidance. Volunteers are stationed at various locations throughout the downtown skyway and subway system Monday – Friday.

Liz Pokorski jumped into volunteering with RSVP with both feet!

Since enrolling in the program less than one year ago Liz has participated in National Senior Corp week, Reasons to Write, Kitchen Band at the Salvation Army Caring Partners site and is assisting with the Volunteer Week/Volunteer Recognition scheduled on April 11, 2011.

Originally from Oklahoma, Liz has been a Minnesota resident for the past 9 years after marrying her college sweetheart. Liz has a background in social services, working with special needs clients and currently has her own personalized assistance business.

An active member of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and the American Business Women’s Association as well as the Elks Lodge scholarship committee, Liz is always willing to lend a hand, share a bright smile and tackle any task with enthusiasm.
