Our support for RSVP volunteers includes:
Assistance in choosing volunteer opportunities
Our program staff is here to assist you in finding the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests, skills and time commitment.
Continued support in your volunteer role
We do everything we can to assist you in finding the volunteer opportunity that is just what you’re looking for. However, there are times when a volunteer decides that a particular volunteer assignment is not as rewarding as they had hoped. If you find yourself in this situation, we are here to help you find a different volunteer opportunity that better fits your expectations. Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can assist you. This is your volunteer experience – let us help you make it just what you want it to be!
Free supplemental accident and liability insurance coverage
As an enrolled RSVP member, you are covered by personal liability, accident, and excess automobile liability insurance at no cost to you. Benefits include up to $25,000 in medical insurance and $1,000,000 in personal liability insurance. The insurance covers you while you’re working at the assignment, as well as while you’re in route to and from the station.
In case of an accident, you should call the Common Good RSVP coordinator designated to your area. A claim form will be sent to you to be completed and returned to RSVP. You should include all bills and a statement of Medicare (if you are enrolled in Medicare). RSVP insurance pays expenses in excess of benefits paid by Medicare.
Travel reimbursement
Volunteer travel reimbursement is provided for mileage from your home to the location where you will be volunteering, and the return trip to their home.
Volunteers must submit the number of miles driven per volunteer assignment monthly. Volunteer mileage checks are paid directly to the volunteer on a quarterly basis.
