Becky is a licensed social worker who provides Pregnancy, Parenting and Adoption Services in the Rochester area. Becky has been working for Catholic Charities since May of 2002 after graduating from Winona State University with a degree in Social Work. Becky chose to pursue Social Work because she wanted to work with children and felt social work would give her a variety of opportunities. As a Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Social Worker, Becky feels that she is getting all aspects of this through helping mothers and fathers to prepare for the birth of their child by either making a parenting or adoption plan. Becky is also able to assist adoptive couples reach their dreams of having a child or additional children through providing adoption home studies and support through the waiting process.
Tammy Petersen is a Licensed Social Worker who provides Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services in the Winona Area. Tammy received a degree in Social Work from Winona State University. Tammy has had an interest in adoption services for a number of years. Tammy has friends whom have been adopted, whom have experienced an unplanned pregnancy, and has a friend who has placed their child for adoption. Tammy works with birthparents to determine what is right for their child. Tammy will help birthparents create either a parenting plan or an adoption plan. At times birthparents are not the only ones affected by the unplanned pregnancy; therefore, Tammy welcomes their families as well.
Tammy also helps prospective adoptive couples in determining which adoption plan is right for them. Tammy works with the family to create a home study which is required by the state of Minnesota. Tammy helps the couple prepare for a child by educating them on adoption related topics, and also assists them while they wait to adopt their child.
Emily Peters is a licensed Social Worker who has been providing Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption services in the Mankato area since October 2006. Emily graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work. Prior to joining Catholic Charities, Emily worked for a non-profit organization providing pregnant women, and their families, pregnancy counseling, parenting support and adoption services. Emily is a strong advocate and support for the women, men and children that she works with. She is committed to providing the best services possible. Emily’s other interests include openness in adoption, history of adoption, bonding and attachment and post placement services.
